From gardening and cooking to woodworking, floral design, art, homesteading, and more, our Community Classes offer hands-on experiences for people of all backgrounds, abilities, and skill levels.

Whether you're trying something for the first time or building on existing knowledge, you'll find welcoming instructors, supportive peers, and plenty of opportunities to learn by doing.

Types of Classes We Offer

Culinary & Farm-to-Table

Discover cooking, baking, food preservation, and seasonal recipes using fresh ingredients inspired by the farm.

Homesteading Skills

Explore practical skills such as canning, herbal projects, natural living techniques, simple DIY projects, and self-sufficiency practices.

Floral & Creative Arts

Create bouquets, flower crowns, seasonal arrangements, crafts, artwork, and projects inspired by nature.


Woodworking & Hands-On Making

Build practical items while learning tool safety, basic woodworking techniques, and creative problem-solving.

Fiber Arts & Traditional Crafts

Learn crocheting, knitting, weaving, and other timeless skills that combine creativity with craftsmanship.

Seasonal & Special Interest Workshops

Throughout the year we offer unique classes based on instructor interests, seasonal opportunities, and community requests.

Summer Spotlight: Farm for All

As part of our 10th season celebration, Homesteads for Hope is proud to offer Farm for All, a special summer initiative providing free community classes throughout July, August, and September.

Farm for All was created to introduce more people to Nature's Classroom and help our community experience the learning opportunities available on the farm.

This limited-time initiative features free classes in gardening, culinary arts, floral design, woodworking, creative arts, homesteading skills, and more.

Registration is required and space may be limited.

What Makes Homesteads Classes Different?

At Homesteads for Hope, we believe some of life's best learning happens outside of traditional classrooms. Our classes combine hands-on instruction, real-world experiences, and the natural beauty of our 55-acre community farm to create opportunities for growth, creativity, and connection.

When you join a class, you can expect:

  • A welcoming environment for all abilities and experience levels

  • Small-group interaction and community connection

  • Opportunities to explore new hobbies and practical skills

  • Knowledge shared by farm staff, local experts, artists, makers, and community members

Our Community Classes are designed to welcome participants of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, and experience levels.

Some people join to learn a new skill.
Some come to meet new people.
Others simply want an excuse to spend more time outdoors.
