Ways to Give

  • Help support adults with disabilities through their lifetime at Homesteads for Hope.

A planned gift gives you the opportunity to:

    • Provide support for yourself and your loved ones during and after your lifetime and reduce income taxes, capital gains taxes, and estate taxes.

You can contact David Palermo, Board Member at: palermodavid13@gmail.com or by phone at: 585.272.0088

  • One of the fastest-growing vehicles for philanthropic giving are Donor Advised Funds (DAF).

Do you have a Donor Advised Fund at a financial-services firm such as Vanguard or Schwab?

    • You can recommend gifts from that DAF to Homesteads for Hope, Inc.

  • Many people give appreciated securities as a way to both save lives and avoid capital gains taxes. To quickly and conveniently donate securities, contact your brokerage firm or financial adviser and:

    • Determine the amount of securities you’d like to donate.

    • Provide your broker with the routing information:

      • Brokerage firm: E-Trade by Morgan Stanley

        • Account name: Homesteads for Hope, Inc.

        • Account number: 299 414885

        • DTC number: 0015

      • Federal Tax ID number: 46-2731613

    • Contact Homesteads for Hope for a donation receipt. Brokerage firms do not include the name of the donor when transferring securities.

  • People who are age 70 ½ or older can contribute up to $100,000 from their IRA directly to a charity, like Homesteads for Hope, and avoid paying income taxes on the distribution.

The gift must be directly routed from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to Homesteads for Hope. This unique gift structure also allows you to satisfy the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) without claiming it as income.

    How it works:

    • You must be 70½ or older at the time the gift is made.

    • Request a direct transfer of funds from your IRA plan custodian to Homesteads for Hope to qualify as a tax-free gift.

    • Provide your plan custodian with the following routing information:

      • Account Name: Homesteads for Hope, Inc.

      • Nonprofit Tax ID Number: 46-2731613

Funds held in other plans such as a 401(k) or 403(b) plan are not eligible but may be rolled over to a standard IRA and then be used for a tax-free gift to charity.

Plan custodians do not always identify the donor, so please notify Homesteads for Hope when you donate so your gift can be matched to you when it arrives.

  • Homesteads for Hope accepts various types of non-cash, in-kind donations, such as vehicles, stock, gift cards, real estate, construction services, etc.

    • Contact Jennyrae Brongo, Founder & CEO at Jenny@HomesteadsforHope.org to make arrangements for your non-cash donation.

  • Remembering Homesteads for Hope in your will is easy. You may leave a percentage or specify the dollar amount.

    • Simply advise your attorney to include an estate gift specifically to “Homesteads for Hope, Inc.” in your will.

  • Many employers will match your gift through an Employer Matching Program. Check with your employer to see if they are one of hundreds of companies participating in these matching programs.

Putting your money where your heart is…

"When people ask me why I give to Homesteads for Hope, my answer is simple. I do not have loved ones with special needs, but I am blessed to know people who do, and this Farm gives everyone a safe, happy, welcoming place to be themselves. Homesteads is growing solutions to really complicated problems and that kind of compassion and innovation should be supported. Donating and being involved here is important to me and my family. Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions about giving and always consult with your tax advisor on the specifics of your charitable giving and taxes."

  • "Working in the gardens has been such an incredible experience for me. I absolutely love flowers—they’re so beautiful and delicate, each one unique in its own way. It’s amazing to see how nature works together, especially watching the bees busy pollinating and the butterflies fluttering everywhere. Being surrounded by all this beauty makes me feel so peaceful and connected to the world around me."

  • "I’ve always loved coming to the farm store to grab a beautiful, fresh bouquet, but now that I can come weekly alongside my CSA Food Share pickup, I’m thrilled! I get to choose my own floral arrangement and pick all the colors I love. I’m so excited for this new experience—it’s going to be the highlight of my week!"

  • "My son, who uses a wheelchair, loves participating in activities all over the farm, but there’s something truly special about the flower fields. While he may not be able to clip each flower himself, with the support of his staff, he gets to make choices and decisions—and the farm staff are absolutely wonderful. I encourage all families to consider this opportunity for their child. If we can do it—and we absolutely can—so can you. Just go for it, you won’t regret it!"

  • "We are so excited to bring this incredible experience to our community here at Homesteads and beyond! Everyone loves flowers, and while we often find ourselves at stores like Wegmans debating if a bouquet is a need or a want, here at Homesteads, you’re the one harvesting it fresh. As a participant, you’ll enjoy longer-lasting blooms, a creative opportunity to design your bouquet, and the support you need every single pick! When you create an experience around a WANT, it’s a no-brainer—get out here in nature’s classroom and get involved! I’m so proud of my team for making this happen—it’s going to be a smashing success!"
