Blue Jean Ball

An Evening Rooted in Purpose

We are delighted to invite you to a meaningful and elevated evening of celebration and community at Homesteads for Hope’s Annual Blue Jean Ball — held at our beautiful Community Farm along the scenic Erie Canal.

This beloved event gathers families, neighbors, volunteers, and local leaders for a shared purpose: to support Homesteads for Hope’s mission of empowering adults with disabilities through meaningful work, learning, and belonging in Nature’s Classroom. Thanks to your generous support, we’ve raised over $100,000 annually — fueling inclusive opportunities that change lives.

This year’s Blue Jean Ball will be especially memorable as we celebrate the successful completion of our Pave the Way Campaign, and honor the remarkable accomplishments of our apprentices. Together, we’ve planted seeds of hope, and now it’s time to gather and reflect on all that’s grown — and all that’s still to come.

So slip into your finest farm chic — polished denim, sundresses, collared shirts, boots that shine — and join us for an unforgettable night under the stars. Expect live music, a family-style farm-to-table dinner, drinks at the watering hole, our Square Roots gallery show and art sale, and a lively silent auction — all in celebration of a more inclusive, compassionate future.

Your presence supports more than an event — it helps us grow a movement. Together, we’re creating a world where individuals of all abilities are empowered to live with dignity, purpose, and joy.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you.

seed & purpose presents: Square Roots

A Community Art Exhibition & Sale

We’re thrilled to introduce something new to the farm — not a building or a program, but a space re-imagined.

seed & purpose is the farm’s brand-new pop-up gallery and creative gathering place, housed in one of our historic barns, and transformed as needed to host seasonal art shows and special events. It’s rustic, radiant, and rooted in community.

Debuting during this year’s Blue Jean Ball, Square Roots is our very first show — a vibrant collection of small-format artworks created by Homesteads for Hope’s apprentices, staff, families, volunteers, and neighbors.

All artwork will be available for online preview ahead of the event, and will be sold in person during the Blue Jean Ball for just $20 each. Every piece purchased supports the Farm’s mission to cultivate purpose, belonging, and opportunity for people of all abilities.

  • Sept 1: Final deadline to drop off artwork

  • Sept 4: Exhibit opens to the public (Thursdays at the Farm) & online

  • Sept 26: Blue Jean Ball: all artwork available for purchase (in-person only)

Why “Square Roots”?

Because from a single square of space, something beautiful can grow.

Whether you're an art lover, a supporter of inclusive creativity, or just curious to see what grows when people are given space to thrive — Square Roots is for you. Come see what’s growing in our gallery — but if something speaks to you, remember: the only way to claim it is by attending the Blue Jean Ball!
