Farmers Workshop
So you want to be a Farmer?
The Future Farmer Workshop’s at Homesteads for Hope is a welcoming, hands-on learning experience for adults 18 and older who want to explore homesteading skills in a supportive, authentic organic farm environment.
Each week, participants rotate through seasonal farm activities that follow the rhythm of the land — from planting and harvesting, to caring for animals, to learning everyday homestead skills to be self sufficient. Whether you dream of raising backyard chickens, growing your own food, learning to cook or simply want to understand how a working farm operates, this workshop offers practical skills you can use at home, on the farm and in daily life.
Weekly classes include:
Chicken care and egg collecting
Gardening and greenhouse growing
Food preservation and basic cooking
Composting and soil care
Seasonal farm projects and maintenance
Simple home-based homesteading skills
The Future Farm Workshop is designed to be inclusive, flexible, and encouraging, allowing each participant to engage at their own pace while building confidence and independence.
No prior farm experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
